2018 Toyota Corolla vs 2018 Kia Forte Comparison

The 2015 Toyota Corolla and 2015 Kia Forte Sedan are both compact sedans with a great reputation for quality. Between the two, which is the better match for you? We investigated the 2015 Toyota Corolla L and 2015 Kia Forte Sedan LX to see which provides the better value. After comparing the different specs, we found the one vehicle surged ahead. Read on to find out which is our winner.

Both sedans have standard safety features like an airbag system, stability system, and four-wheel antilock brakes. However, testing by the NHTSA revealed that the Corolla is safer on the road. The Corolla scored a perfect 5-star overall rating. The Forte Sedan pales in comparison with a 3-star overall rating. When it comes to passenger safety, the Corolla earned a 4-star rating while the Forte Sedan earned a disappointing 2-star rating. The 2015 Toyota Corolla is the clear winner for safety.

Toyota offers a much more generous and comprehensive warranty plan for its customers. Toyota pays for scheduled maintenance for two years or 25,000 miles. This means you won't have to pay a cent for tire rotations, oil changes, and lubrication. Kia doesn't offer complementary routine maintenance at all, so you'll have to pay for every service. Further, the Toyota has a more generous corrosion warranty. You won't encounter any mileage limitations on the Corolla's five year warranty, but the Forte Sedan's warranty lasts only 100,000 miles.

The Corolla has more cabin space than the Forte Sedan, including 5.5 inches of additional legroom. Taller passengers may feel a little cramped in the Forte Sedan. The Corolla also has better headlights, according to Consumer Reports. They gave a "Very Good" rating to the Corolla's headlight performance, but only a "Good" for the Forte Sedan.

Both vehicles utilize an eco-friendly 1.8L DOHC 4-cylinder engine. Consumer Reports compared the two and found the Corolla had a faster performance. The Corolla accelerated from 0 to 60 mph in 9.9 seconds, while the Forte Sedan pulled up just short at 10.1 seconds. While Consumer Reports tested both models with an automatic transmission, Toyota also offers an optional continuously variable transmission. Kia does not.
