Toyota Drive Connect Trial Ending? Choose How You Navigate
Toyota Audio Multimedia vehicles equipped for Drive Connect and compatible Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. Check the services offered for the individual vehicle.
You do not have to renew Drive Connect just to use compatible phone navigation through Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. Those connections require no Toyota subscription. Toyota’s Cloud Navigation, Intelligent Assistant and Destination Assist are a separate choice: Drive Connect requires an active trial or paid subscription.
What does Destination Assist add?
Destination Assist gives you access to a live agent who can send directions for an address or point of interest to Cloud Navigation. That is the help you would be keeping with an active Drive Connect plan.
Bring your phone and data plan
Use a compatible phone with an active data plan. CarPlay and wireless Android Auto also depend on network availability, a cellular connection and GPS; data charges may apply. Connect your own phone while parked and open the map you normally use, so you can check that connection before relying on phone navigation.
Choose how you navigate
Once the Drive Connect trial ends, continuing Cloud Navigation, Intelligent Assistant and Destination Assist requires a paid Drive Connect subscription. Toyota says you can renew through the Toyota app. Compatible CarPlay or Android Auto navigation does not require that renewal; it still depends on your phone, data plan and connection.
