MIT Technology Review Praises Toyota for Smart Business

To make it onto the MIT Technology Review 50 Smartest Companies of 2016, you have to not only be a leader in terms of innovation for technology and the environment, you have to have a smart business model, too. This year, Toyota was ranked at number 17 on this list, alongside the likes of Amazon, and Facebook, and outranking many pure electronics companies like Microsoft and Intel.

This shouldn't come as much of a surprise to many of you who have been following Toyota's recent exploits, like investing $1 billion into researching artificial intelligence and developing guardian-angel technology, and winning the World Green Car of 2016 award with the hydrogen-fueled Mirai. Both were cited by the tech review as reasons for Toyota's ranking.
