Maintenance

Sheppard took great care of his truck to make it last one million miles. The biggest key he found to play a part in its longevity was maintenance as needed, from oil changes and tire rotations to battery checks, suggested check-ups, and timing belt replacements. In fact, he visited his local dealership 117 times over the nine years he owned the model to maintain its abilities. Sheppard stated that the seats are not worn down, but they are not as clean as when he first purchased the vehicle. However, he proved that quality care through maintenance can make all of the difference.

Toyota Inspection

Toyota is deeply interested in how Sheppard's truck was able to last for nine years with an almost like-new condition. They plan to take apart the truck to see how the engine and transmission looks. The information they learn from the truck would be applied to future models to increase their current durability. It could take months for the Tundra to be inspected by Toyota engineers, as they plan to examine every piece carefully.
