The Scion xB has always been lauded for its uniqueness. It has a boxy frame and fun-to-drive platform, with lots of features. Now, it sounds like 2015 will be the year the automaker starts thinking about its third-generation of the vehicle.
Scion brand head Doug Murtha recently gave an interview where he stated that the xB, along the with xD are candidates for redesigns very soon. Of course, in the confusing land of automotive model year sequencing, that could still mean that a refreshed model arrives as late as 2017, which means it might start the design process in 2015. Either way, we know a new xB is coming sometime in the next few years. That's enough to get all of us at Elgin Toyota Scion excited.
With a date far off like 2017, we could also see a very different new Scion lineup, too. There have been reports circulating in the automotive space that Scion could add at least two new models that would likely be hatchbacks to the American market, along with a sedan version of the popular FR-S, while also keeping current models fresh and up to date with the latest style and technology.
As is the case with all developments, we'll let you know right here on our blog if there is any important information. In the meantime, you can stop in and see us in our Elgin,IL showroom. We'd be happy to talk about all Scion models with you in greater detail, answer any questions, and arrange test drives.
