You always strive for safety behind the wheel of a car. You get specialized car seats for your children, you always check your mirrors and over your shoulder before changing lanes, and you scour over crash test ratings before making a purchase.
How can you be even safer?
Toyota is rolling out a new suite of active safety features, which are already available on some current models. It's called Toyota Safety Sense, and like the name implies, it will enhance your senses by supplementing your eyes and ears with cameras and radar.
When your Safety Sense vehicle detects a potential collision ahead of you, it will give an audible warning, and prepare the brakes to assist you in an emergency stop. If you still do not press the brakes and a collision is unavoidable, your Toyota will brake automatically.
