What the Award Considered
When Edmunds.com and Parents magazine looked at the Sienna, they paid attention to a number of qualities:
- Kid-friendly features
- Safety specs
- Comfort features
- Overall size
- Fuel economy numbers

Not only did these categories impress the judges, but the overall quality of this popular minivan proved a major advantage over the competition. They also were struck by the design. From the inside to the outside of the vehicle, its ergonomic controls and style set it apart from the crowd.
Sienna Highlights
The Toyota Sienna has plenty of features to love. It is unique for its All-Wheel Drive capabilities, and it has the immense power of a 3.5L V6 engine with a six-speed transmission. This V6 outputs 266 hp and 245 lb-ft of torque. The contribution of MacPherson strut suspension system and a sport tuned power steering system give the Sienna the edge over many other minivans on the market.
Safety features include an advanced system of eight airbags for protection throughout the cabin. Models also come standard with stability and traction control systems, child safety locks, locking seat belts, a tire pressure monitor, and more.
Drivers have the option to add driver’s assistance systems from the Toyota Safety Sense Package like Pre-Collision System, Lane Departure Alert, automatic high beams, pedestrian warning system, and more. Models also come standard with a rear view camera that is enhanced with sensors. You can enhance the system with optional parking sensors that beep and provide warning visuals when you back up too close to an object.
