Five decades have passed and 43 million vehicles have been sold since the first Corollas hit the market, which Toyota says has made the Corolla the bestselling automotive nameplate in history.

2017 Corolla
The 2017 Corolla celebrates its golden birthday with fresh styling and a new safety system, among other outstanding features.
On the outside, the new Corolla steps out with a sportier appearance, featuring new exterior amenities that include a fresh front grille and LED headlamps. Bi-LED headlamps adorn the Corolla L, LE and LE Eco trims, and onboard the SE, XSE, and XLE models drivers will find complex-LED headlamps. New wheel designs and options are also available.
A backup camera is now standard across the Corolla lineup, and the interior features new fabric and colors, a revamped climate control panel, and Softex-trimmed sport seats.
A variety of state-of-the-art technology amenities are also offered onboard the new Corolla, including standard Bluetooth connectivity and a standard Entune Audio system, with various upgrades for the Entune system that include available Entune Audio Plus with Connected Navigation, available Entune Premium Audio with Integrated Navigation and App Suite, and a 7-inch touchscreen.
A host of prime safety and driver-assist features are also offered for the 2017 Corolla as part of the advanced Toyota Safety Sense-P technology, including:

The 2017 Corolla lineup additionally includes a limited edition Corolla SE 50th Anniversary Special Edition model, with only 8,000 scheduled to be made.
The Special Edition trim level is an SE model equipped with features like a power tilt/slide moonroof, Smart Key, and Entune Audio Plus. It also includes exclusive exterior paint and trim colors and “50th Anniversary Edition” badging and features.
