For the past 24 years there have been volunteers from all walks of life flooding national parks, urban trails, local playgrounds, and wildlife refuges to help maintain America's public land. This weekend on September 30, 2017 it will be no different, with hundreds of thousands of volunteers dusting of their gloves to go to work preserving our public lands for National Public Lands Day (NPLD). The event organized by the National Environmental Education Foundation (NEEF) is a fee-free day for all federal public lands across America and many state parks.

This event is focused around preserving our public lands to be enjoyed well into the future. The activities can range from trail maintenance, to planting, to trash pick-up and more, as well as hikes, bike rides, festivals, paddling excursions and other fun activities for volunteers to participate in.

In support of the event, Toyota for the 19th consecutive year, is the corporate sponsor of NPLD. Toyota gives financial backing for the program as well as hosting more than 30 events for employees across the nation.

If you are interested in NPLD and NEEF you can join one of the NPLD volunteer opportunities near Streamwood, IL.
